Duties:

Under the supervision of the Manager, Video Production, support the overall objectives of Joni and Friends’ Marketing department as part of the Creative Team. Perform duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to:
  1. Video Editing
    1. Able to edit impactful, professional-quality videos
        1. Short documentary and story-based videos
        2. Interview, lecture, and talking-head style videos
        3. Effectively pair b-roll with interviews to create emotionally compelling content
        4. Short promo and social media videos
    2. Basic audio editing
    3. Basic color correction
    4. Upload and deliver videos according to department procedures
    5. Able to ingest and house code media, to keep projects and media well organized
  2. Camera Operation and Production Support
    1. Able to operate video cameras in the field and studio, to produce interview, documentary- and promo-style content
    2. Able to record quality audio in the field and studio with basic audio equipment
    3. Familiarity with basic lighting, grip, teleprompter, and other production equipment
    4. Experience with specialty camera equipment, such as gimble, drone, and/or action cams, helpful but not required
    5. Assist the team with planning and executing productions as needed
  3. Live Audio-Visual Support - Operating camera, audio, lighting, slide and video playback, and livestream equipment as needed for conferences and events
  4. Archive and Digital Asset Management Support
    1. Able to learn and utilize Orange Logic, our digital asset management platform
    2. Upload, organize, and add metadata to media according to department standards
    3. Assist a core team of archive admins with ongoing media archiving tasks to help preserve ministry media and make it searchable and sharable
    4. Able to manage large amounts of data, follow file-naming, organization, and security conventions
  5. Additional Skills and Responsibilities
    1. Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally for production and AV support at ministry conferences and events
    2. Able to work well as part of a team or independently to serve the media needs of the Marketing department and ministry. Responds well to feedback and notes. Able to work alongside, collaborate with, and provide direction as needed to other staff members, on camera talent, our donors, and the people we serve
    3. Experience with digital photography and photo editing helpful, but not required
    4. Familiarity with social media platforms, trends, and best practices helpful, but not required.
    5. Familiarity with non-profit marketing and media practices and trends
    6. Able to Quality Control one’s own work
Qualifications:
 
  • Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith
  • Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry
  • At least two years of relevant media industry experience or a bachelor's degree in film, media production, or related field
  • Proven experience with professional-quality video editing
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, Photoshop, and Bridge
  • Editing samples required
  • Proven experience with professional or prosumer level video cameras
  • Camera operator samples required
  • Must have good organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, excellent communication skills, and work well within a team environment
  • Able to work three days a week in the Joni and Friends home office in Agoura Hills, CA according to our hybrid work schedule
  • Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable
Compensation for this position is $26.00 - $28.00 per hour. It is a hybrid position, working in the Agoura Hills location Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and remotely Wednesday and Friday.
