Duties:

  1. Ministry Development Strategy
    1. Develop and execute strategic fundraising plans for an assigned book of ministry, aligning efforts with departmental and organizational priorities
    2. Present and articulate fundraising opportunities, programs, and initiatives to donors in a compelling manner to advance giving
    3. Collaborate with other Development Officers to identify opportunities, share insights, and align fundraising strategies across ministry portfolios
    4. Contribute to the advancement of ministry-wide fundraising initiatives, goals, and objectives
    5. Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of donor retention strategies to strengthen long-term engagement and giving
  2. Donor Engagement & Cultivation
    1. Develop and implement individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for each donor
    2. Partner with Development leadership and key stakeholders to ensure major donor acknowledgement and cultivation
    3. Design and execute a targeted engagement plan to deepen donor relationships and enhance long-term investment in the ministry through personal identification and information sharing
    4. Develop and implement strategies to identify and cultivate emerging and next-generation donors
    5. Manage ongoing cultivation and strategic plans to increase donor participation, commitment, and giving levels
    6. Identify and pursue new donor prospects through strategic networking and relationship development
  3. Donor Portfolio Management & Administration
    1. Oversee donor communications to ensure timely, strategic responses that strengthen major donor relationships
    2. Direct the development and maintenance of donor tracking systems, confidential reports of major donors, and data of donor prospects for strategic planning purposes and decision-making
    1. Interface with development staff related to ensure the accurate processing, maintenance, and stewardship of donor contributions and information
  1. Partner with Regional and Area Ministry teams to align fundraising strategies and support integrated development efforts
  2. Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor to support department and organizational needs

Qualifications

  • Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith
  • Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years fundraising, sales, or related experience
  • Possess excellent human relations skills; strong organizational ability; goal oriented and self-motivated
  • Strong presentation skills and public speaking experience
  • Proven ability to develop and cultivate positive relationships between JAF and current major donors and major donor prospects, develop and manage major donor prospects
  • Strong computer skills to include donor database management systems; experience with Salesforce beneficial
  • Good interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to effectively organize and prioritize a wide range of daily tasks with varied deadlines are necessary
  • Must be detail oriented, committed to accuracy, a team player and self-starter who is flexible and able to work independently
  • Must have a strong sense of confidentiality
  • Strong general computer skills are necessary along with a competent, working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Salesforce, and the Internet
  • Valid driver’s license is required
  • Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable

Compensation $62,000 - $70,000 

This is a hybrid position (Mon, Tue, and Thu in our Agoura Hills office, Wed and Fri are remote).
