Christ-Centered Care & Support Specialist
Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Response, support the overall objectives of Joni and Friends’ Response department. Perform duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Correspondence
- Respond to mail, email, social media, and telephone communications from constituents affected by disability or interested in Joni and Friends in a professional, competent, caring, and timely manner. This includes:
- Choosing appropriate prototype letter responses reflecting the philosophy of the ministry
- Determining enclosures and referrals
- Drafting letters that are sensitive, empathetic, and have continuity with sound biblical foundation, the Joni and Friends statement of faith, and address the stated needs and requests of the writer
- Promoting materials, resources, and ministry activities for furthering disability ministry
- Maintaining high quality grammar, punctuation, composition, and writing style
- Maintaining strict confidentiality standards
- Exercising good judgment in referring unusual or complex problems to the manager
- Interact with callers needing prayer, encouragement, and resources
- Coordinate and follow up on responses to constituents referred to other departments or US Ministries offices
- Properly manage and store incoming and outgoing communication with constituents following procedures for O365 and Salesforce
- Respond to mail, email, social media, and telephone communications from constituents affected by disability or interested in Joni and Friends in a professional, competent, caring, and timely manner. This includes:
- Additional Responsibilities
- Available for off-site meetings to enhance knowledge and skills pertinent to ministry integration
- On an as-needed basis:
- Assist in the packaging of outgoing mail
- Support the manager with organizing departmental files
- Help with ongoing and/or short-term special projects
- Active participation in prayer events/projects
- Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor to support department and organizational needs
- Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith
- Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in psychology, biblical counseling, sociology, and/or theology, or equivalent work experience
- Possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize as well as have excellent reading, writing, and typing skills
- Good detail orientation, flexibility, and researching skills are required. Able to support and integrate with other departments
- Adept at working both independently and in a team environment, committed to professionalism and respectful in interactions with colleagues and those served by the ministry
- Communicate effectively and consistently with team members who work remotely
- Maintain a sense of tidiness and orderliness in the workplace
- Must be reliable, cooperative, and a motivated learner, exhibit enthusiasm with self-motivation and initiative
- Strong general computer skills are necessary along with a competent, working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and the Internet
- Knowledge and experience with the disability community and/or resources is valuable
- Understanding of counseling principles is helpful
- Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable

Compensation: This is a part-time position, and the range is $25.00 - $27.00 per hour, working 24 hours per week, and our goal is to have a person working 5 days a week. We would love to have the person work in our Agoura Hills office, but we are open to remote employees with the listed qualifications as well.
