Donor Specialist, Sustainers
The Donor Specialist, Sustainers at Joni and Friends plays a crucial role in supporting a key segment of our donor base, particularly those contributing gifts under $1,000. This position is focused on managing the engagement and stewardship of this extensive tier of donors through personalized strategies for mass cultivation, including tailored digital and direct mail campaigns.
- Donor Cultivation & Care
- Building and maintaining relationships with donors through regular communication via phone, emails, and other recognition methods to boost contributions
- Conducting daily reviews of Salesforce to identify opportunities in the book of ministry, acknowledge gifts, manage data, and tailor interactions based on donor entry points
- Engage new donors to secure a second gift within 90-120 days, using targeted strategies to encourage ongoing support
- Engagement and Retention Strategy
- Collaborating with the Senior Donor Specialist, Cultivation & Retention to develop and implement engagement strategies for donors within their specific book of ministry
- Crafting and managing donor strategies for the US Ministry New Donors and general email journeys for each Area Ministry
- Directly overseeing the US Ministry New Donors strategies and communication efforts to ensure these initiatives' success
- Process Enhancement
- Working closely with the Director, Donor Cultivation & Retention, and Senior Donor Specialist, Cultivation and Retention to refine and implement donor cultivation strategies, focusing on automated communications and engagement platforms
- Leading efforts to reevaluate the Area Ministry Digital Experience and provide a unique introduction to local teams to build Donor Journey’s specific to each enhance engagement and donor recognition
- Managing the year-end appeal mailings for the US programs and tributes, as well as year-end financial follow-up communications
- Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor to support department and organizational needs
- Must possess a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree with the Joni and Friends statement of faith
- Desire to serve in a growing and dynamic Christian service ministry
- Proven experience in donor management and fundraising within a non-profit environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in Salesforce and data management
- Commitment to the mission and values of Joni and Friends
- Experience with email automation, subscription services, database management systems, and Microsoft Office products
- Understanding of Christian ministry and specifically Joni and Friends is desirable
